Shoosmiths adds Wei Wu as new partner
Shoosmiths has recently welcomed Wei Wu as a new Partner in their Corporate team, with a focus on enhancing the firm’s M&A capabilities. Wei, who joins from Dentons, brings nearly a decade of experience in advising Chinese companies seeking investments in the UK and beyond. Her role as a founding member of Dentons’ China Taskforce has allowed her to build robust relationships within China, as well as in Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, and the UK. Furthermore, Wei has established key connections with legal partners, including Dacheng and other prominent Chinese law firms.
Before her tenure at Dentons, Wei held positions in Hong Kong at Norton Rose Fulbright and Clyde & Co. Her recent projects include overseeing a £1.2 billion restructuring operation for a leading commercial real estate services company across more than 30 jurisdictions, along with managing a global mining company’s joint venture with top asset managers. Wei’s diverse client portfolio aligns well with Shoosmiths’ main markets, particularly in sectors like Technology, Energy & Infrastructure, and Financial Services.
Head of Shoosmiths’ Corporate Team, Ben Turner, expressed his excitement regarding Wei’s addition to the team, emphasizing the firm’s ambitious strategies for their Corporate team on a national and international level. He noted that Wei’s expertise in international M&A will further strengthen their client offerings, complementing the skills brought in by recent Corporate Partner appointments, Kurt Ma and Mark Churchman.
