Didi, the Chinese mobile transportation technology platform, has released its Q1 2025 earnings report, showcasing substantial growth in both domestic and international sectors. During Q1 2025, Didi achieved a net profit of CNY 2.4 billion, with an adjusted net profit of CNY 2.9 billion.
The core platform, encompassing both Chinese and international operations, experienced a 13.4% year-on-year increase in total orders, totaling 4.25 billion orders. The Chinese ride-hailing segment saw 3.26 billion orders, marking a 10.3% year-on-year growth, while the international business managed 989 million orders, reflecting a 24.9% year-on-year increase. In Q1, Didi’s core platform recorded a Gross Transaction Value (GTV) of CNY 101.6 billion, with the Chinese ride-hailing business contributing CNY 78 billion, a 9.3% rise, and the international business contributing CNY 23.6 billion, a 27.9% increase.
Significant advancements have been made in Didi’s international business. With strategic investments in companies like Lyft in North America, Ola in India, Grab in Southeast Asia, and Bolt (formerly Taxify) in Europe since 2015, Didi has fostered partnerships with local entities. In 2018, the establishment of the International Business Division and the acquisition of Brazil’s largest ride-hailing company, 99, further propelled Didi’s global presence.
Thanks to effective investments and operational efficiencies in markets such as Brazil and Mexico, Didi’s international business GTV has consistently shown high growth rates exceeding 25% over consecutive quarters, with a continuously expanding scale. At present, Didi’s international operations span 14 countries across Latin America, Asia-Pacific, and Africa, primarily focusing on ride-hailing services while exploring avenues in delivery, financial services, and more.
Given the recent uptrend in cross-border travel by domestic users, Didi’s application now provides overseas taxi services in over 1,200 cities across nine countries, including South Korea, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. Catering to domestic users’ long-distance, multi-trip car-hire requirements, Didi recently launched its overseas charter services, covering 26 popular cities in 11 countries such as Singapore, Bangkok, Phuket, Seoul, Tokyo, Kuala Lumpur, and Sydney.
Established in 2013, Didi went public on the New York Stock Exchange in June 2021. As a mobile transportation technology platform, Didi offers various services encompassing ride-hailing, taxi hailing, chauffeur services, shared mobility options, energy and vehicle services, food delivery, intra-city freight, and financial services in markets spanning across Asia-Pacific and Latin America.
