REIL Issues Tender for 1 MW Rooftop Solar Systems
REIL has issued a rate contract tender for the installation of 1 MW of rooftop solar systems on government buildings in multiple states. The bidding process requires interested parties to submit their proposals by May 17, 2025, with bid openings scheduled for May 19. To participate, bidders must provide an earnest money deposit of ₹500,000 and a tender fee of ₹1,000.
The selected bidders will be responsible for various aspects of the project, including survey, design, engineering, erection, testing, and commissioning. Additionally, they must offer comprehensive operations and maintenance services for five years. The scope of work also involves supplying project equipment, excluding solar modules. To ensure timely completion, successful bidders must conduct site visits, identify suitable rooftop areas, and secure a no-objection certificate from the distribution company.
Each solar project capacity per building is required to fall within the range of 10 kW to 1,000 kW. Bidders must complete the project within 90 days of receiving the work order, with deviations in the timeline incurring liquidated damages. The total estimated cost for the projects is ₹25 million. Eligible bidders must be Indian entities registered under specific acts and must demonstrate prior experience in designing, installing, and commissioning solar projects.
To qualify, bidders must have completed similar works in the past seven years, meeting specific cost thresholds. They must also have provided operations and maintenance services for at least one year for any of the completed projects. Financial criteria include an average annual turnover of 30% of the project cost and positive net worth as of March 31, 2024.
In addition to this tender, REIL recently invited bids for rate contracts to develop 1.14 MW of rooftop solar projects in other states.
