Get up to $990,000 in refunds with Class action payment available

Class action lawsuits are legal proceedings where a group of people brings a lawsuit against a defendant on behalf of a larger group of affected individuals. After legal fees are deducted, the proceeds are distributed among the class members. The affected individuals must prove that they were impacted by the defendant’s actions, leading to either a settlement or judgment.
Criteria for class actions include impracticality for individual claimants to pursue cases alone, making class certification more cost-effective. Civil rights cases, consumer product liability, and securities litigation are common class action examples. Lawyers usually work on a contingency basis, earning a percentage of the settlement fees without exceeding what plaintiffs receive.
The Bronx Zoo was involved in a $990,000 class action settlement over undisclosed processing fees on online ticket purchases. The Wildlife Conservation Society operates the Bronx Zoo and has agreed to the settlement without admitting fault. The deadline for objections and exclusions is May 1, 2025, with a final hearing on June 5, 2025, and claims due by July 21, 2025.
Consumers who purchased electronic tickets for the Bronx Zoo between August 28, 2022, and January 16, 2024, directly from the zoo’s website are eligible for a share of the settlement proportional to the processing fees paid. Proof of purchase is required for claim submission. This settlement requires that processing fees are disclosed or not charged on future electronic ticket purchases.
