JP Morgan and KPMG top consumer M&A adviser rankings – data
In their recent analysis of the first quarter of the year, GlobalData found that JP Morgan and KPMG are at the forefront of advising M&A deals in the consumer sector. The data revealed that JP Morgan secured the leading position in terms of deal value, while KPMG recorded the maximum transactions by volume.
JP Morgan’s success in the value charts is underscored by its involvement in five transactions totaling $3.8 billion. Notable among these deals was Gryphon Investors’ acquisition of a significant stake in the US-based sparkling teas and hard seltzers company, Spindrift Beverage Company. On the other hand, KPMG took the lead in deal volume by offering advisory services for six transactions, including OSI Group’s acquisition of UK peer, Karnova Food Group, from Endless, the private equity firm.
GlobalData’s lead analyst, Aurojyoti Bose, attributed KPMG’s rise in deal volume from the 41st to the top position in Q1 2025 to an increased number of deals advised compared to the previous year. Similarly, JP Morgan’s climb to the top spot in terms of deal value can be traced to its involvement in significant transactions. Their engagement in two billion-dollar deals during Q1 2025 contributed significantly to this growth, and alongside their first place rank in value, they also ranked third by volume.
Among the other top performers in terms of deal value were Centerview Partners, advising on deals totaling $2.7 billion, followed by Goldman Sachs at $1.95 billion and UBS at $1.8 billion. Bank of America rounded out the top five with deals worth $1.45 billion. Deloitte ranked second in deal volume, followed by JP Morgan, Houlihan Lokey, and PwC.
GlobalData’s league tables rely on real-time tracking of numerous company websites, advisory firm websites, and other reliable sources. The data is meticulously collected by a team of analysts, ensuring detailed information for each deal, including adviser names. To enhance data robustness, GlobalData actively seeks submissions of deals from leading advisers.
