Uzbekistan brings in more than 500,000 mobile phones in two months

Uzbekistan has recently imported over half a million mobile phones in the span of just two months. This data, as reported by the National Statistics Committee, reveals that a total of 552,649 mobile phones were brought into the country from foreign sources during the initial months of 2025, valued at around $60 million.

The primary countries from which Uzbekistan imported mobile phones during this period include China, Vietnam, India, the UAE, and a few others. Notably, China stands out as the major contributor, with 404,185 units imported, followed by Vietnam with 129,589 units, India with 14,269 units, the UAE with 4,428 units, and a minimal number from other countries totaling 178 units.

In the year 2024, Uzbekistan imported a staggering 4.2 million mobile phones, totaling $374.5 million in value. Among these imports, 3.4 million phones were sourced from China, solidifying its position as the top exporter of mobile phones to Uzbekistan.

The consistent trend of importing mobile phones from China suggests a strong trade relationship between Uzbekistan and its eastern neighbor. The reliability and quality of Chinese technology make it a preferred choice for mobile phone imports in Uzbekistan.
